Thank you to GolfCharlie and Claude Code for fixing the code to work with the newly changed FAA API! They have saved a lot of time. A new image has been created and will be uploaded today and available later tonight. If you don't want or need the image, you can visit https://github.com/markyharris/livesectional and incorporate the changes into your board now.

There has been another change to the FAA API which has again broke the map. We are currently working on this. Check back for fix. If you have the fix please post it. - Mark
I picked up some grass runway lights from a local estate sale. These will be GREAT for making a single airport metar lamp.
Where do I start? What do I need?
I repaired electronics in the ARMY so I know that aspect pretty well.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Shawn, I'm not exactly sure I understand. So let me describe what I think you are trying to do and you clarify as necessary.
You want use a grass runway light, like this;
To display the METAR currently on a single airport? Correct? If so, that should be doable. So let me know if I'm on the right track or not. - Mark
I liked your idea so much I purchased a runway light off of Ebay. I sand blasted and painted it. I added an ESP32 micro-controller (not RPi) and wrote a simple Micropython script to display the METAR Flight Category by color on a string of LED's that I wrapped around a cylinder inside the lens, (which replaced the original bulb). Every 5 mins it polls the FAA to update the flight category. Simple build but looks really good. Its a great idea. Thanks for suggesting it. - Mark
