Finally got everything back up and running and downloads made of airport and config files. There is something going on with the saving of settings that cause the RPI to freeze though.

That's the original error. I just realized that the menu selection for the update needs to be removed too. Thanks for that. For now, if you don't select that menu item, everything will work fine. - Mark

@markyharris Gotcha, everything is going fine. I need to flash a copy of the SD card now that it works again. Lesson learned.
